The inspection takes place 2-3 times during the growing period and once after haulm killing.
Fieldinspection
The tolerance levels for the various classes are as follows:

first clonal generation : no visual symptoms + no positive reaction in laboratory (leaves of all plants tested).
- second clonal generation : no visual symptoms + no positive reaction in laboratory (leaves
of 50 plants tested ).
Summary field inspection tolerance levels:
- For certain varieties and classes, additional laboratory test can be carried out (e.g. high
classes, susceptible varieties, varieties in which virus symptoms are hardly ever visible).
- In the laboratory at least 200 plants for classes SE and E, and for class A and C,
100 plants are tested.
- If in the field the result of a laboratory test cannot be confirmed, new samples are taken for
testing: 400 plants (leaves) for Classes SE and E, and 200 for class A and C.
