Seed certification-isolation - Netherlands
To reduce virus infections from outside the seed plots the following rules apply:
- in most seed producing areas the growers of ware potatoes are not allowed to plant a lower
quality seed than class A for their ware potato production fields.
- the distance between seed fields and other potato fields must be at least 2 m if there is any
risk of these becoming sources of virus infection transmitted by contact (PVX, PVS).
- the distance must be at least 25 m if there is any infection source of viruses
transmitted by aphids.
