Batch inspections

Your colleague stores his seed potatoes in well-ventilated storage areas protected from frost. Good storage conditions are essential for retaining a high quality. More and more storage areas are these days fitted with mechanical cooling installations. In the period in which your Dutch colleague is handling his batches of seed potatoes the NAK inspectors will visit his farm at least once a day. They will inspect the batches primarily for the presence of tuber diseases and deficiencies. Only batches that have been approved and certified may be traded, irrespective of the seed potatoes' destination. The NAK uses the same standards for all batches.
